Installing Zendesk Chat for WordPress

If you are on a Legacy Chat standalone account and use WordPress, you can add the Zendesk Chat widget to your site. Choose one of the methods below to add Chat.
Note:If you are using Zendesk Chat in the Web Widget, or are using Zendesk Chat + Support, seeSetting up and using the Zendesk Support for WordPress plugin.

To add the Zendesk Chat widget via plugins

Note:This applies only to Phase 1 and 4 chat accounts and is not intended for Phase 3 chat accounts. If you have a Phase 3 chat account, use theWeb部件的插件中rt.
  1. ClickPlugins>Add New.

  2. Search for the Zendesk Chat app and clickInstall Now.

  3. After the plugin is installed, clickActivate.

  4. Select Zendesk Chat from the menu on the left-hand side. When prompted, enter the credentials for your Chat-only account. This is usually an email address and password.
  5. ClickLink Upto complete the setup process.

To add the widget via the Appearance menu

  1. SelectAppearance>Editor.
  2. Paste your Zendesk live chat script in theFootersection, before the tag. Note:To find your embed code, seeAdding the Chat widget to your website.
  3. ClickUpdate File.

      Hi Zendesk Team, is the plugin working with the most recent version of Wordpress?, It seem's I cannot activate it. I already activated the plugin and put in the details:

      Zendesk Chat Username (E-mail):

      亚博Zendesk聊天密码:

      Subdomain (For Zendesk Chat accounts with a subdomain): On this section when I put in the subdomain, it won't launch the dashboard, because it goes to https://https://xxx.zendesk.com/.zendesk.com. so there must be something wrong with the plugin.

      Same thing as reported above, plugin fails with error trying to connect after putting in email, password, and domain

      How do I enter the customize script code using this plugin?

      Hey Roque! You can try:

      • Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
      • Navigate to Plugin Settings: In the left sidebar, find "Zendesk Chat" and click on it. This will take you to the plugin's settings page.
      • Access the "Customization" Section: Look for a section related to customization or advanced settings. This is where you'll usually find options to add custom scripts.
      • Add Your Script: Within the customization section, you should see a text box or field where you can add custom script code. This is where you'll input your script. It might be labeled as "Custom Script," "Additional Scripts," or something similar.
      • Save Changes: After pasting your script into the designated area, make sure to save the changes by clicking the "Save" button or a similar option, usually found at the bottom or top of the settings page.
      • Test: Once saved, you can test whether the custom script is working as expected by visiting your website and checking the Zendesk Chat functionality.

      Keep in mind that modifying scripts can impact the behavior of your website and Zendesk Chat. Make sure you're familiar with the script you're adding and its implications.
