Using the automatic credit card number redaction feature, you can automatically hide credit card numbers when chatting and in your chat history.
The checks don't guarantee that all credit card numbers will be identified. They also don't guarantee that some numbers that aren't credit card numbers will be skipped. The system does check for phone number and URL patterns and skips them. For example, some international phone numbers may pass theLuhn check, but if the numbers start with a +, they won't be redacted.
To enable automatic credit card redaction
- SelectSettings>账户, then the证券交易委员会uritytab.
- UnderAutomatic Redaction, check theEnable automatic redaction of credit card numbers.
After credit card redaction is enabled, only the first six numbers and last four numbers of the credit card will be displayed. The tag “ chat_system_credit_card_redaction” will be added.

HiAimee Spanier,
Do you now how to prevent this from happning in Zendesk Messaging? Our customers use a lot of Gift Cards for transactions and the number format is the same as a credit or debit card which results in the numbers being obscured in the chat, which we do not want.
At the moment there is no option to customize how this feature would redact sensitive information over chat.
You can try the suggested "if the numbers start with a + sign" workaround so that the message won't be redacted.
